Healthy People, Healthy Planet Discussion Groups
We’re scheduling Healthy People, Healthy Planet discussion groups for 2012. The NWEI calls the reader A World of Health, but we’ve named the program Healthy People, Healthy Planet. The anthologies/discussion guides will be available for $15 at the Hanover Co-op Service Desk starting December 15. Health Connections of the Upper Valley has joined the Co-op Food Stores and the Upper Valley Food Co-op in purchasing sets of 10 books to loan to discussion groups. We hope you’ll bring 8-12 friends, neighbors, and colleagues together for these valuable six-session conversations.
The readings focus on the connections between human health and environmental health. The topics include: preventative and precautionary medicine; eating well; household toxins; healthy communities; consumer culture and health; and the relationships between healthy eco-systems and human health.
